SFE - Software Packages for Solaris, OpenIndiana and OmniOS

Hi,

its a bit quiet here these days, as I'm busy automating Solaris Zones based Databases being automatically provisioned by Ansible (naturally running on Solaris too).

As the Sun panels provide overwhelming amounts of electrical power these days, I can now fearlessly run the Sparc machine not by night but all days to resume the builds there. Only I need a little time to concentrate on integrating the packages that are already and will be created into the existing public SFE IPS repository - without killing the existing automated uploads.

Hi all,

I found some time to restart building packages.
The one currently in the works is PowerDNS, as I have to get rid of DNS Server bind.
Soon you'll see pdns and pdn-recursor appearing in the SFE repository for OmniOS build 151038 and later.
Wondering why pdns? It can use plain bind zone files as well as mysql records for servicing the zones.
Additionally you can use lua with simple code snippets to solve a lot DNS problems. For instance
creating dynamic replies like switching IP-addresses when asked from inside or from outside of your network.

Completing PowerDNS packages
MySQL 8.0.33 with recent Oracle S11.4 SRU may need to wait for updated SFE packages or wait with installing the latest SRU
