Dear SFE Users!
Once a service goes down, you recognize how important the service is to people.
The backup site and _ALL_ IPS Repositories are online and operational. The domain name sfe.opencsw.org points to this new IP-Address, so no changes needed on your side.
The Workbench 2018-03 will be delayed for a short while.
I'm currently busy working to get up my freelance career.

Samba 4.6.13 for Solaris 11 and OmniOS / OmniOSce got updated to samba 4.6.14 - CVE-2018-1057: Unprivileged user can change any user (and admin) password. Packages for Solaris 11.3 and OmniOSce should already be in the repository
[solved: with timestamp 20180226 there is a new set of packages for firstname.lastname@example.org on S11 and OI that has correct settings for directory pkgconfig. Just re-try your update or install now. Thanks for your patience and have fun using the added java compiler "gcj"! edited 20180227-0900-UTC]
A quick note from the workbench..
the last udpate to GCC 4.9.4 and including the java compiler gcj introduced a problem with a conflicting set of attributes to the patch /usr/gnu/lib/pkgconfig and /usr/gnu/lib/amd64/pkgconfig.
@FOSDEM Brussels has a booth from @illumos Project connecting the community projects around it.

I've added kvmadm version 0.12.3 to the SFE Omnios and OI-Hipster repositories. Please note that for selected OmniOS Releases you can get kvmadm from the OS-Distro repositories also. I'll try to have always the latest+greates kvmadm version on the repo. If you need kvmadm for an older version of OmniOS (e.g. 151014), then drop me a note.

Received a sparc machine as a long-term loan
Some weeks ago I've got a sparc machine for sparc builds of SFE packages. The ILOM is already tested, but it'll take another while until I can setup the OS and integrate the SFE CBE (Common build Environment). Currently a long awaited side project is the cause for delays: A fully integrated CBE package for the build environment that turned out to be a larger project then I thought. I think I'll postpone that CBE-package and instead do a manual setup of the CBE now.
Attending FOSDEM in Bruxxels on Feb 4th & 5th
If anyone of you is at FOSDEM too, I would appreciate having a chat. In case you have really good story around Solaris / OpenIndiana OmniOS, I can offer we do a short audio recording. No large preparation needed from your side. I'll bring a nice audio recorder and two headsets, extendable to 4 people.
