If you like to play your video files on Solaris 11 or OpenIndiana, then you might like these packages:

For Solaris 11: http://sfe.opencsw.org/localhosts11/en/search.shtml?token=mplayer&action...
direct install: http://sfe.opencsw.org/localhosts11/p5i/0/media%2Fmplayer.p5i

For OpenIndiana: http://sfe.opencsw.org/localhostoi151a8/en/search.shtml?token=mplayer&ac...
direct install http://sfe.opencsw.org/localhostoi151a8/p5i/0/media%2Fmplayer.p5i

Hi,

tried to get mplayer on my /hipster installation:

$ pkgrecv -s http://sfe.opencsw.org/localhostoi151a8/ --newest > ~/tmp/localhostoi151a8-newest.txt

$ grep mplayer ~/tmp/localhostoi151a8-newest.txt
pkg://localhostoi151a8/SFEmplayer-codecs@2007.10.7-0.0.151.1.8:20140130T045649Z
pkg://localhostoi151a8/SFEmplayer-codecs/src@2007.10.7-0.0.151.1.8:20140130T045303Z
pkg://localhostoi151a8/media/smplayer@0.8.6-0.0.151.1.8:20140130T013832Z
pkg://localhostoi151a8/media/smplayer/src@0.8.6-0.0.151.1.8:20140130T013431Z

But it looks like only codes and frontend are presented. Where to get mplayer itself from? And if there are 2 or more versions, which one?

Thanks
Best regards.

Hi all,

this morning I have installed mplayer (and smplayer GUI frontend) from localhostoi151a8 (in forehand also livemedia package, see http://sfe.opencsw.org/node/34 note).

All works fine! Tried mp3, mp4, webm and flv media types - no problems found.

Thank you Tomm! Great job!

Best regards.

Hi Predrag,

thank you for giving feedback! That sounds very good that MPlayer works for you.

It can even leverage Nvidia accelerated video cards with mplayer -vo=vdpau

(display help with mplayer -vo help )

Best Regards,
Tomww
